What is Stars/Top Soccer?
A community based soccer program that is designed to meet the needs of children with physical and/or mental disabilities. The program is geared toward player development. Players are placed on teams according to ability not age.
What age does the player have to be?
The player must be four years old by August 1, 2008. There is no upper age limit.
How safe will this game be for my player to play?
We will determine what your player needs to participate and insure his /her safety as well as others at all times.
What is required to register to play?
Registration information and forms can be found on our registration page.
How much does it cost to play?
Fees are $50.
What if I cannot afford the registration fee?
Scholarships are available. Please contact Daryl von Haunalter at running247@ix.netcom.com if the registration fee is a financial hardship. We want all players to be able to participate in Stars.
Why do I need to submit a photo of my player?
This will be used for a player pass which all players will use at games.
When does the Stars season begin?
The season starts the middle of August with a play-date (TBA). Then there will be practice one day a week. Starting Saturday, September 6th there will be games every Saturday through November 8th, 2008.
Where will the practices be held?
This will be determined by each player’s needs but it will be at a local facility within Santa Cruz County.

Where are games played?
Games will be played at a local facility within Santa Cruz County and will be determined by each player’s needs.
When are games played?
Most games will be played on Saturdays and times will be most likely in the afternoon.
How many players on a team?
We will determine this once we see how many players we have and what needs they require to play the game.
What equipment will my player need to play?
Once we see what needs your player requires, we will make recommendations so he/she
can play safely. We will provide the uniforms for the games.
What rules will be followed in the games?
We will make every effort to use the official soccer rules but we are allowed to alter them to make it a better for the players.
Can I volunteer to help?
We are always looking for enthusiastic dedicated individuals who can make a difference in the lives of our players. We need coaches, assistant coaches, and volunteers who can attend our practices and games and help each player reach their fullest ability. Please contact Daryl Von Haunalter or talk directly to your coach if you want to help out.
What is the buddy system you refer to?
We try and assign “buddies” to every player to work with the player at games and practices. You can also volunteer to be a buddy.
Do you have insurance for the players?
Yes we have insurance for the fields and the players who participate in Stars.

We have provided driving directions on our fields page. Please check for your appropriate field.
