Referee Announcements for 2011:
New Clinics for 2011 are posted (see below)
NOTICE! Please READ!
There has been an unusually high number of just plain incorrect referee Send-Off Reports. In these cases, the referees have simply been marking up the match card and sending that in with the player or coach pass and without the actual CYSA Send-Off Report.
This is unacceptable to District 2.
District 2 has implemented a very simple, easy to use, online, web-based Send-Off Report submission form page.
We strongly encourage all referees to use this as the preferred way to submit a Send-Off Report.
The form can be found at http://d2sra.org/forms/sendoff.lasso
It is also referenced in the Referee Procedures (Including Send-Offs) page at http://cysadistrict2.gotsport.com/clubsite/?p=332 which is on the D2 Spring League website.
Please help correct this problem before it gets any worse.
Thanks!

RE: Goal Safety
To all soccer players, coaches and parents,
The fall soccer season is right around the corner. This past spring a teenager was killed while attempting to move a portable soccer goal. This tragic event demands we assess our routines and alter them to prevent any such accident in our area.
The Delgado league has mandated that if goals are not anchored properly and cannot be corrected to allow play, the home team will forfeit the game. Locally our referees will be empowered to abandon any game where the goals are not anchored. This applies to recreation, Division 3 and Division 1 games.
Our focus though should not be on game day. Accidents can happen at scrimmages, practices or wherever the goals are not properly stored.
Please keep the game safe. Anchor goals properly for scrimmages, practices and games. Anchors can consist of sandbags or even player equipment bags (given they are overloaded as is often the case for extra weight). Lastly, store them properly when they are not in use. Goals are not intended to be playground equipment.
Thanks for your concern. Play safe.
A Nation United - Referee Flag Patch
From the U.S. Soccer Communications Department -- Sept. 22, 2001
As part of a program to remember and honor the victims of the tragic events of September 11, U.S. Soccer is asking all referees and assistant referees to wear the United States' flag on the left sleeve of the referee uniform. Both MLS and the WUSA have endorsed this practice. The flags may be worn on the uniforms until further notice.
- Usage Note: The U.S. Flag patch should be worn centered on the left sleeve of the uniform shirt, three inches down from the shoulder seam and above all other markings or patches
