2014 Santa Cruz Classic - A Great Success!

The 2014 Santa Cruz Classic was a great success by all accounts, thanks to to the hard work and dedication of many local volunteers, led by Tournament Director Doug Evers, and Committee Members Tami Rudd, Mary Ann Krein (Registrar), Tiffany Hsu, Sean Clark, and Tracy New. Local teams fared especially well this year, appearing in the Championship or Consolation match of 11 of the 12 brackets in which they were present. It is unclear how many years the League has been organizing this tournament, but this was one of the best in recent memory. Thanks to all who participated and made this a memorable event!

MC Surf U11B - 2014 Champions

The MC Surf U11B entered the Classic for the first time and won the U11B championship by beating their Fresno opponents in double overtime in a game that will no doubt provide memories for years to come

1st - Jaws-99-White - "World Cup" Beach Tournament

July 7th, 2014: Santa Cruz City's Jaws 99 White took first place in last weeks hotly contested GU14 beach tournament, with teams coming from as far away as Placerville. The girls finished 2nd two weeks prior, in the ProAm Beach tournament, and were not going to settle for 2nd again! The girls finished with an impressive 4-1-0 (+16 GD). In the final, the Jaws girls kept their composure against an aggressive and very vocal Livermore Fusion squad. The girls used their local beach knowledge/training to come away with a strong 4-1 win!
