Elite Player Development Clinic IN SANTA CRUZ -
Friday August 1st!
- Girls Clinic: 10am – 12:30pm (arrive at 9:40am)
- Boys Clinic: 2pm – 4:30pm (arrive at 1:40pm)
Boys Coaches: Michael Runeare (UC Santa Cruz, Head Coach), Robert Cummings (Cal State Monterey Bay, Head Coach), Paul McCallion (Associate Head Coach, Notre Dame de Namur University), Paul Sapsford (DoC, Cal North & former Stanford coach).
Girls Coaches: Emily Scheese (UC Santa Cruz, Head Coach), Erin Reinke, Paul McCallion (Associate Head Coach, Notre Dame de Namur University), Paul Sapsford (DoC, Cal North & former Stanford coach) + 1 additional college coach TBA.
- Fee: Cal-North members $25, (Non Cal-North members $50)

2014 Santa Cruz Classic!
The 2014 Santa Cruz Classic Tournament is going to be held on September 27th & 28th 2014. Application to play in the Santa Cruz Classic is open to all Copper, Bronze, and Silver teams from CalNorth.

3rd Annual San Jose Earthquakes 4v4 Tournament Presented by Wells Fargo!
**Saturday July 19th @ UCSC**
$175 early bird team registration fee * $200 after June 1st.
- 7 players max per team: all age divisions
- Each team is guaranteed at least 3 games in pool play with top teams advancing to Quarter and Semi Finals.
Current Earthquakes' players will be on site for meet and greet and autograph opportunities.
* Registration includes tickets to a future Quakes' game, tournament t-shirt and a variety of Earthquakes' and sponsor giveaways, all the while, playing on the best grass fields in Santa Cruz County!

Referee classes - 2014 Clinics
Mid County Soccer Club is pleased to host a Grade 8 Entry-Level Referee Class. The class will be held at Main Street Elementary School, (3400 N. Main St., Soquel, CA). Class times are as follows:
- July 30th and 31st (newly added dates!)
- Monday, August 4 – 6 PM to 9 PM
- Tuesday, August 5 – 6 PM to 9 AM
- Wednesday, August 6 - 6 PM to 9 PM
- Thursday, August 7 – 6 PM to 9 PM
The class will cost $30, Checks made payable to Mid County Soccer Club and due the first day. For preparation of the first class session all students MUST view and answer questions from USSF Online Video Modules @ http://www.ussoccer.com/Referees/Resource-Center/Online-Training/Grade-8-Referee-Course.aspx

Pajaro Valley Soccer Club is pleased to host a Grade 8 Entry-Level Referee Class. The class will be held at Watsonville High School, (250 E. Beach St, Watsonvillel, CA). The Classroom D5 is located off of Blackburn St and is closest to the Tennis courts. Class times are as follows:
- Thursday, August 14 – 6 PM to 9 PM
- Friday, August 15 – 6 PM to 9 AM
- Saturday, August 16 - 9 AM to 3 PM
- Sunday, August 17 - 9 AM - 3 PM

Any child 13 and above or adult who wants to become a PAID referee, needs to take the Class 8 Referee Class and the following club's are hosting classes on the following dates.
Depending on the age of the game that you are the referee for and whether you are center or assistant, you can make $25 - $35 per game. We offer training and practice to make you a good referee. You can do 1-3 games in a row and make good money. Your referee schedule can work around your own game schedule if you are playing. You will need to buy your referee attire but you will be reimbursed the more games that you do and the more experienced you get.

1st - Jaws-99-White - "World Cup" Beach Tournament
July 7th, 2014: Santa Cruz City's Jaws 99 White took first place in last weeks hotly contested GU14 beach tournament, with teams coming from as far away as Placerville. The girls finished 2nd two weeks prior, in the ProAm Beach tournament, and were not going to settle for 2nd again! The girls finished with an impressive 4-1-0 (+16 GD). In the final, the Jaws girls kept their composure against an aggressive and very vocal Livermore Fusion squad. The girls used their local beach knowledge/training to come away with a strong 4-1 win!

The Santa Cruz Sharks 00 Blue take second place in the Region IV President’s Cup in Morgan Hill, CA.
June 15th, 2014 - The Sharks, a wildcard team called to compete at the last minute as a finalist in the Northern California President’s cup, fought valiantly through six games -- winning two in round-robin play against Oregon and Alaska, then beating Colorado in the Quarterfinals and Idaho in the Semifinals to reach the Finals Sunday morning against the HG Eagles from Cal-South. The Sharks scored first on a penalty kick by Jonathan Sherwood-Flett in the 19th minute. Cal-South answered in the 60th minute, sending the game into two overtime periods. A goal by Cal-South in the 80th minute gave them the win. Cal South moves on to the National President’s Cup in South Dakota.
The Sharks, a Santa Cruz City club team, were coached by German Plaza and Thanasis Kottas. The Sharks’ Travis Hatcher was a top goal scorer in the tournament with a total of 5 goals.
Sharks 00 Reach State Finals -
The 2013 Sharks 00 Blue (boys under-13 competitive soccer team), after reaching the State finals of the President’s Cup. This event has teams representing Cal South, Cal North, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Idaho and Alaska. The Champion of this event will represent Region IV at the National Championship in Greenville, SC from July 11 thru July 13.
This is the first time that a team from our club has the opportunity to play and represent Santa Cruz at the regional level of competition.
Most of the players on this team started playing soccer at the recreational level (U6), and the team has volunteer parents as Coaches and Manager.

- Wednesday, June 11 at 8 am vs. Santa Clara Sporting (Cal-N)
- Thursday, June 12 at 8 am vs. Westside Timbers (Oregon)
- Friday, June 13 at 9:45 am vs. CISC Velocity (Alaska)
- Friday, June 13 - Quarter Finals at 4.45 pm.
- Saturday, June 14- Semi-finals at 2pm
- Sunday, June 15 - Finals at 8 am.
Because of the nature and the schedule of the competition, some players have been asked to miss school on Wednesday and Thursday. These are some of the hard choices that go along with high level competition.
Jaws 99 White - 1st Place - U14 "A" Division
Jaws 99 White - finished the Watsonville Soccer Central Indoor "A" division undefeated, with a record of 8-0-0! Despite having the strongest competition in years. I.e., Breakers 99 (Las Olas), MCFC, PV United, Hollister, Salinas (Aftershocks) and SV/SLV, the girls still finished with a +31 Goal Differential! Jaws would like to thank Alexis and the Soccer Central staff for another great season!

SVSLV Soccer Club D3 Wolverines Win Big in Sunnyvale (District II Cup).
Santa Cruz City's, Jaws 99 White, takes 1st place in the Gold/Silver division at the 2013 Soccer By The Bay.
Jaws finished with a total team effort, both defensively and offensively (6 goal for and 0 goals against). The girls finished with a impressive 3-0-1 record, to start their fall season.

Aptos Tide 00G go undefeated in Spring 2013 CCSL!
The Tide 00G had to rebuild last year when new Head Coach Jeff Zahraie teamed up with Manager Marguerite Remde to build a team starting with only a few remaining players from the original team. They managed to have a very successful Fall season, and now have completed an undefeated Spring season. Way to go Tide 00G!
